Cauldron Mimic – Creature

Description

Two pieces that look like one thing until the second one moves. The plain cauldron has a round, banded belly, loop handles, a lidded top with a ladle hooked over the rim, and sits on its own sculpted log fire. The mimic keeps the same banded pot as a shell, grows horns and a single bulging eye, and spills a wide fanged mouth and long tongue out across the ground.

Set the ordinary cauldron in a camp or a witch’s kitchen, then swap in the mimic when someone lifts the lid.
